In most instances, I’m not
looking to build a spot like I
would when fishing out in the
l a k e, a l o t o f m y m a r g i n w o r k
revolves
around
discreet
t r a p s e t t i n g a n d p r e - b a i t i n g.
So, whilst I might introduce
larger quantities of bait
w h i l s t I ’ m n o t f i s h i n g, w h e n
it comes to putting the rigs
i n t h e w a t e r, g e n e r a l l y t h i s i s
just a rig and a small helping
of bait. The idea is to get fish
visiting the spots regularly
a n d c o n f i d e n t l y, t h e n l o w e r
i n a r i g.
I generally go for a less
obvious hookbait, and just
enough free offerings for
a b i t e. M y f i s h i n g i s b a s e d
around seeing and knowing
carp are visiting the spot,
once that box is ticked it
makes sense to feed them
exactly what they’ve been
e a t i n g a n d g e n e r a l l y t h a t ’s
either a matching wafter
or a balanced tiger nut,
depending on what I’ve been
baiting with’.
