the Bluebell Lakes complex
holds many very special
carp. With ‘special’ being
t h e m o s t o p e r a t i v e w o r d,
holding everything from grey
and black scaley mirrors to
old battle scared commons
t h a t e a c h t e l l a s t o r y. F r o m
my knowledge of the stock
that I’ve been acquainted
w i t h o v e r t h e l a s t 4 y e a r s I ’d
say there are roughly 12 to
14 strains of carp swimming
around on site and currently
around 55 to 60 different
4 0 ’s a c r o s s a l l 5 l a g o o n s . T h e
variety of the carp gives a
true sense of surprise when
your bobbins pull up tight
and you never know what
you are connected to until
you get that first glimpse of
b r o n z e, s i l v e r, g o l d o r B l a c k
as it boils up from the crystalclear depths.
