shape of Dave at 59lb and the
b o x c o m m o n a t 5 7 l b. N o o n e
else really had a good idea of
w h a t w a s a c t u a l l y i n th e r e.
But after getting to grips with
the stock from what I had
caught and what I had seen
g e t t i n g c a u gh t I ’d s a y a t t h e
right time Swan has roughly

Not only does Swan L a k e
h a ve lots of beautiful pr e t t y
f i s h, but it also has lo ts o f
b i g 40+ pretty fish. Walk i n g
a r ound the lake in my f irst y e a r
o f fishing swan made it q u i t e
c l ear to me that the m ajo ri ty
o f anglers on the lake we r e
j u st targeting the two or th r e e
1 6 t o 2 0 f i sh t h a t g o o v e r t h e
40+ mark and held some very
u n d e r ra te d g e m s . I c a n ’t
mention all of my favorite
40+ and big fish captures I’ve
c a u g h t f r o m s w a n b u t h e r e ’s
a h a n d f u l t o w e t y o u r w hi s t l e.

Leather’ @ 41lb 4oz has to be
one of my favorite moments
from fishing swan. One of
t h e m o s t s o rt a f t e r a n d ra r e l y
caught fish in the lake came
out for me as a part of a triple
take landing it with another
4 0 l b e r i n t h e n e t . T h i s g en e t i c
leather is a very cagey feeder
so if you plan to target it make
