It was still pretty gloomy
first light dawning so I zeroed
my sling and popped the fish
into it after unhooking it in net
easily with the barbless size 4.
A quick weigh and she went

40. The fish waited for pics for
half an hour for improved light
and was slipped back safely.
Yes I was buzzing and I
exchanged my storey with a
chap from the West Country
who had also had the same fish
weeks earlier. He confirmed
it as a fish called the “scar
common”. A great famous
swan fish in the photo album.
I did another night in the
same swim but the fish had
long gone so I had a look on
Kingy and found the DVD
swim vacant so moved over
to there for my last night.
This swim controlled a large
snaggy willow lined margin to
the right. I carefully plummed
tight to the snag as the main
