The barbel fishing was a
pass but kingy bought me back
down to earth.
The bluebell fish are very
cunning
and
pressured
creatures but the rule book
is the same as many waters.
Location is key. Not always
possible on a busy complex
but definitely opportunity can
trade in Norfolk working at
lakes helping out labouring,
bailiffing and working in a
local tackle shop after three
years at college studying
fishery
management
to
diploma level. The work at the
tackle shop had dried up and
I felt locally I’d exhausted my
fisheries career and had even
present itself more than you
think.
Baiting heavy mostly won’t
catch you a big hit of fish
on most of the lakes. It can
work from time to time but it
happens way too much most
people leaving with blanks.
Both times I caught were on
yellow singles and my location
was on point.
started looking for “normal”
jobs again. Anyone wanting
a job in the fishing industry
you need something decent
to offer or perhaps have good
friends in high places, or just
work hard at it and never give
up is best advice I could give.
Slightly depressed looking
through the indeed jobs app I
came across a part time job at
Bluebell lakes helping in the
onsite tackle shop 26 hours a
week. Not the greatest choice
geographically for myself or
amount of hours to make me
rich, however it interested me
as it kept me in the industry
and Bluebell is well know and
I enjoyed my time fishing there

In the winter of 2024 I found
myself unemployed within my
chosen industry of fishing/
fishery’s ect. I’d had around
10 years of low level assistant
kind of work in the local
