o n showing fish in Garden Tw o
a n d went on to ca tch se v e n
c a rp in my first 24 hou rs . I t
a l l seemed so simple th at f i r st
t r i p but anyone who ha s s e t
f o ot on Swan will kno w t h a t
i t really is a tricky l ake a n d
c a n seem impossible at tim e s .

O v e r th e n e x t 1 4 m o nt h s I
was a regular visitor to Swan
venturing to the venue on
thirteen occasions. It helped
t h a t I wa s n o t m a r r i e d a n d
h a d n o k i d s a t t h e t i m e, t h e y
both came a couple of years
later and that put an end to my
regular visits to the complex
f o r a w h i l e. Du r i n g t h a t f i r s t
s t i n t o n S wa n , I w a s q u i c k t o
get my head around the venue
are reaped the rewards for
my extensive efforts. I was
c a t c h i n g w el l o n z i g s d u r i n g
spring and had over 30 fish
o f f t h e t o p b e t w e e n A p r il a n d
June and although I had racked
u p a g o o d n um b e r o f f i s h , m y
f i r s t b i te o n t h e b o t t o m n e v e r
came until July and that was
minutes later followed by my
second bite on the bottom
resulting in 41Lb common in
one net and a 45Lb grass carp
in my other net. It really was
a pleasant reminder of what
