THE BEST OF

I
first
started
fishing
Bluebell lakes in
the late 90’s and I
instantly fell in love with the
place. Back then it was a far cry
from the fishery it is today. the
café was an old porta- cabin,
Tony, and Lin had put all their
money into the fishery and had
to make tough decisions like
whether they could afford to
have electricity installed or
water. Electric took president
and tony would drive up to
the nearest garage for water. I
always used to time getting my
season ticket during the winter
and always waited until I could
see the ashtray full of roll up
butts. This would indicate how
stressed Tony was and I knew
there was a deal to be made for
a cheaper ticket.
