a n d a change of company a t wo rk , a l l o f wh i c h I wo u l d n’ t h ave
c h anged for the world. T he o n ly f i s hi n g I h ad m a n a g e d wa s o n
a couple of local waters in E ss ex w i t h an o ld f ri e n d , c a tc h i n g
u p and having a social mo re t h an a ny t h i n g . A fe w f i s h we re

o l d, dark commons, which we re a s b l a ck as yo u r h a t an d a s o l d
a s the hills. I also manage d to g e t o u r yo u n g e s t , H ar vey, o u t
fo r a bit of fishing, going b a c k to b a s i c s w i t h h i m – s o m e t h i n g
I h aven’t done for years. He eve n ca u gh t a fe w c a rp , a n d I t h i n k
a new generation of angler h a s n ow b ee n c re a te d !
