I’m sat back waiting for a
big old scaly character or
covering ground targeting
stripies, I just love being
somewhere along the tow
path in search of hidden
gems!

I’m itching to get on the
bank in the coming days as
i h a v e n ’t b e e n o u t i n w e e k s .
But as the year comes to
a n e n d, I a l w a y s l i k e t o h a v e
a look back at the easier
times and make plans for the
months ahead.
I t was nice being back o u t
b e hind the rods this mo rn i n g
a f t er having a few we e k s
t a rgeting perch (which h a sn ’t
b e en especially rewarding ) . I
j u mped onto a stretch that h a s
b e en hard going in the p a s t
a n d proved so again to day.
I spent the morning on
single VNF pop ups whilst
watching the water for signs
of fish to drop onto, but
unfortunately after a few
hours it became clear there
were no fish in the area to go
at so... bacon sandwich time
it was!
Hopefully
temperatures
will stay up a bit now and
give me chance to nab a
I t ’s n o t b e e n a b a d y e a r f o r
m e r e a l l y, w i t h e a c h s e s s i o n
being nothing more than a
h a n d f u l o f h o u r s a t a t i m e,
but I’ve managed to put a
few stunners on the bank
and for the first time in a
good few years, nicked a few
off the top aswell! The rods
have nearly been torn off the
alarms on some violent takes
and I’ve found myself waste
deep more than once in an
effort to slip the net under
the ones that tried every
trick in the book to get away!
I’m happy to have upped my
mirror carp pb and my tench
p b ( I w o n ’t t a l k a b o u t b r e a m
though) ;-) but I think 1 of my
