At around 2:30, about two h o u rs af ter m ov i n g , I h a d fo u r bl eeps
o n my right hand rod. Gl a n c i n g d ow n t h e b a n k , I n o ti c ed th e
b o bbin was pulled up ver y t i g ht . I s h o t d ow n t h e b an k , pic ked
t h e rod up and bent i nto t h e fi s h . I t p l o d d ed a ro u n d fo r a b o u t
te n minutes before it popp ed u p i n t h e m a rg i n . T h at wa s w h e n I
co uld see the mass of it w i t h i ts h e a d a n d s h o u ld ers co m in g u p

A couple of mates came rou n d , a n d I went d ow n i nto t h e wate r,
ro l led the net up and pla ced h e r i nto t h e wei g h s li n g s o t wo o f u s
co uld carr y her up th e bank to t h e u n h o o ki n g m at . A f te r zero i n g
t h e scales to the wei gh sl i n g , I h o i sted h er u p w h i l st J a ke an d
M ark read the scales. It wa s my n ew p ers on a l b est a n d my f i rst
U K 50 was confirmed – the Pea c h at 5 1l b 12 oz .
After an hour or so of ta k i n g i t a l l i n , I go t t h e ro d b a c k i n
