The missing list carp - almost every lake
has got one if not more. What causes these
carp to avoid capture for season after
season? Obviously they could have been
hooked but unknowingly lost in that time .
The syndicate that I’m on had around
30 original carp in it. We’d seen them
the first season of having the lake at
spawning time. In 5 years only 2 small
commons have graced the bank? As the
lake had been unfished (officially anyway)
do those carp just turn on to a fully natural
diet and rarely, if ever, pick up bait? Big
commons in particular are known to be
very predatory, so why would a fry feeding
carp pick up a boilie? This is certainly one
carping conundrum that hasn’t been fully
cracked yet.
