T h e Wo r l d C a r p C l a s s i c h a s c o m e a l o n g w a y s i n c e I f o u n d e d
it back in 1998. From humble beginnings to now having 57
countries represented and thousands of passionate anglers
taking part, it’s been incredible to witness the growth of
carp angling across Europe.
To d a y, I ’ m p r o u d t o s h a r e t h a t w e ’ r e o n c e a g a i n p u s h i n g
the boundaries—this time by pioneering European-style
c a r p a n g l i n g i n C h i n a . T h i s e xc i t i n g n e w c h a p t e r b e g a n
with a historic agreement signed by James Zhou on behalf
o f o u r C h i n e s e p a r t n e r s . F i t t i n g l y, t h e s i g n i n g t o o k p l a c e
in the magnificent Great Hall of Arundel Castle, on a table
beautifully inlaid with jade—a truly symbolic moment .
O u r f i r s t e v e n t i n C h i n a i s s e t t o l a u n c h l a t e r t h i s y e a r,
with a full national structure rolling out in 2026. With 90
million registered anglers in China and a phenomenal team
on the ground, I’m confident we’ll build the same success
and legacy that we’ve achieved in Europe.
