M a i z e was the obvious choice as t he next one to t ry,
b u t I d i s covered two guys were already using i t to g o o d
e f fe c t o n a water loca lly, so not wanting to t read on t h e i r
to e s , I t r i ed processe d peas instead. Wha t a waste of t i m e
t h a t wa s … Despite being very convenient and cheap, a l a s
c a r p re a l ly did not seem to like them, so cou pled w ith t h e
d i f f i c u l t y in keeping them on the hook, I very soon m ove d
o n to b ro ad and butter beans.
T h e ye ar was 1975 , and despite catchin g steadily a ll
s u m m e r on a boilie made from ground cat biscu its, I wa s
very willing to keep experimenting with these particle baits,
a s t h ey worked out so much che aper to use. 1975 was t h e
ye a r I l e f t school and began a n electr ical apprentice sh i p ,
s o m o n ey was tight , and these particles real ly did see m to
b e a v i a b le cheaper alter nat ive.
