reset the island trap that I
had a very good chance of
repeating what I had done
previously that morning by
g e t t i n g a n o t h e r b i t e.
I saw fish showing in the
area but not over the spot
throughout the entirety of the
d a y, t o t a l l i n g a r o u n d 5 0 s h o w s
and they were all very close
t o m e. I h o p e d t o g e t a n o t h e r
b i t e i n t h e m o r n i n g, s u r e l y,
all I had to do was repeat the
pva bag presentation, bait
lightly and wait.
The
excitement
and
anticipation of a second bite
ensured sleeping was not on
t h e c a r d s . I w a s u p v e r y e a r l y,
watching the water and ready
f o r a b i t e b u t s a d l y, b i t e t i m e
came and went; the carp were
o n t o m e. T h e y c a m e c l o s e t o
my zone but just not close
enough to pick one up.
The time to leave for home
w a s l o o m i n g. I b e g a n t o t h i n k
a b o u t t h e f o l l o w i n g w e e k ’s
angling and decided to heavily
bait the spots that I had been
f i s h i n g. I f t h e f i s h w e r e s t i l l i n
the area the following week I
would simply drop back into
the same swim. I was going
to be away from the lake for
five nights and decided to go
big on the banker spot and
try and clear some of that
light Canadian that plagued
the spot. I put around 15kgs
of bait over the three spots,
but the banker spot saw most
of it, around 10kgs of hemp,
tigers, pellets, boilies and
corn. My first Ecton session
completed with a second plan
d e v e l o p i n g.
During the week whilst I
was away from the lake all I
could do was think about that
banker spot, have the fish
stayed in the area? Have they
found the bait? Is someone
else fishing that swim? All
