ye ars, I have fished many d i f fe re n t s p o t s al l ove r t h e d o c ks
b u t always go back to the o n e s p o t I ch o s e f ro m t h e b e g i nn i n g ,
a s it’s where I have had m o s t s u cc e s s. A s t h i s i s g o i n g to b e
a series of articles, I am n o t g o i ng to s how o f f al l t h e f i s h a t
o n ce, but over the coming i s s u e s, I w i l l t al k yo u t h ro u gh s o m e
o f the captures I have had f ro m t he s e d o c ks . Eve ry s i n gl e b i te
f rom these docks is special , as i t c a n b e we eks , m o n th s , a n d i n
s o me people’s cases, years b efo re t h ey l an d a c ar p f ro m t h e s e
d o cks. So I will talk about t wo d i f fe re n t f i s h i n t h i s a rt i c l e ; t h e
f i rst one being on a partic ul a r eve n i n g wh en I h a d c o m e ove r
t h e docks after a friend of m i n e h a d r un g me to a s k i f I fa n c i e d
a walk around the docks to s e e i f we co u l d s e e o r s p o t any o f
t h e carp milling around o n my s p o t o r i n t h e s h a l l owe r wa te r.
Bear in mind it was abo u t 6 p m i n t h e eve n i n g , a n d mo s t o f
my fishing, if not all of my f i s h i n g, wa s n o r m a l ly d o n e b e t we e n
4 a m in the morning and aro u n d 9 a m, b e c au s e t h e a c t u a l p art I
f i s h is a boating club, and i t ’s wh ere t hey la u n c h t h e b o a t s , s o
yo u’re not allowed to be f i s h i n g t h ere w i t h l i n e s in t h e wa te r
a l l around the boats. I neve r wa n te d m any p e o p l e s e e i n g m e
f i s hing there so I could ke ep my sp o t as l ow key a s p o s s i b l e .
We had literally come ove r j u s t fo r a l o o k , b u t wh en we we re
t h ere, we saw a few fish jus t mi ll i n g a b o u t a n d g ru b b i n g a ro u n d
my baited area, and my f rien d s a i d , “ W hy d o n’ t yo u j u s t g o an d
g e t your rods and fis h for t h es e c ar p ?” At f i rs t I wa s l i ke , “A rgh ,
I d on’t really want to,” but a s i t wa s a n i c e eve n in g a n d we h a d
