to hit the bottom, but I found three likely spots to fish and
baited up with half a dozen spombs over each rod for my
f i r s t n i g h t . W i t h a l l t h e e xc i t e m e n t o f b e i n g o n t h e l a k e , I
d i d nā t s l e e p t o o w e l l a n d w a s w a i t i n g i n a n t i c i p a t i o n f o r t h e
first bleep from my Nevilles, but unfortunately the night
fell silent.
N e x t m o r n i n g , I s a w t h a t s o m e s w i m s h a d b e c o m e a va i l a b l e
so decided to move up to the shallows, as a couple of fish
had been caught , so I packed up and made the long barrow
j o u r n e y t o a s w i m c a l l e d ā L a w n s ā. T h e g u y w h o h a d f i s h e d i t
the night before had managed a fish, so I thought there was
a g o o d c h a n c e o f m a y b e c a t c h i n g m y f i r s t Wr a y s b u r y c a r p .
I cast two rods around a rod length in front of a roped-off
area next to the Island and one to the right of the swim. The
m o r n i n g f l e w r o u n d , b u t t h e c a r p w e r e nā t p l a y i n g b a l l .
