and I got it really close to the square where I actually fish
for them, but then he just woke up again and now caused
complete carnage for me. He was charging from left to right
like a complete nutcase, and I was just trying my best to
guide the line away from all the trolleys, bikes and snags
that I know are there through experience of fishing here.
Now the problem started, as he came charging towards me
where I was standing on the dock. Underneath my feet I
k n e w o f f o u r o r f iv e s h o p p i n g t r o l l e y s a n d a l s o a b i k e t h a t
are really close in the edge. As he came swimming in, he just
swam straight into the back of one of the shopping trolleys
and was now inside the shopping trolley like a human inside
a shark’s cage. So he’d now snagged inside the shopping
trolley and the line was all wrapped around the wheel of
t h e t r o l l e y, a n d D a n n y a n d I w e r e l i k e , “ Yo u h a v e g o t t o b e
j o k i n g – t h i s f i s h i s a g o n e r ! ” N o w t h e f i s h w a s n’ t f i g h t i n g
a n y m o r e o f c o u r s e , a s i t w a s j u s t c a g e d i n s i d e t h e t r o l l e y.
I said to Danny that all we could actually do was either
lower in the net behind the trolley and hope he swam out
into the net or just wait for him to swim out on his own
accord, but to be honest I was saying to Danny that this fish
i s a g o n e r. I c a n r e m e m b e r D a n n y s a y i n g , “ I ’ v e s e e n y o u l a n d
s o m e b r u t a l f i g h t s , b u t y o u ’ r e n e v e r g o i n g t o l a n d t h i s o n e .”
I j u s t h o p e d f o r t h e b e s t a n d c o u l d n’ t r e a l l y d o m u c h o t h e r
t h a n w a i t f o r t h e f i s h t o r e l e a s e i t s e l f f r o m t h e t r o l l e y.
So we were just standing there watching the fish just chilling
i n t h e t r o l l e y i n t h e c r y s t a l c l e a r w a t e r, a n d w e c o u l d n’ t
help but notice the sheer size of the tail just rocking back
