the trolley for a good five or more minutes, and he was just
s i t t i n g t h e r e i n t h e b a s k e t o f t h e t r o l l e y. A l l o f a s u d d e n , h e
started trying to turn around so he could swim out the back
o f t h e t r o l l e y. Ve r y c a l m l y, w h i c h I f o u n d v e r y s t r a n g e , h e
s t a r t e d s w i m m i n g o u t o f t h e b a c k o f t h e s h o p p i n g t r o l l e y,
and the line, which was caught up on the wheel, rolled over
the back of the wheel, pinged off the trolley and was now
b a c k o u t i n o p e n w a t e r. I g r a b b e d t h e r o d a n d c l o s e d t h e
bail arm on the reel, and the fish just woke up again after
its lovely rest inside a so-called metal trolley net . The fish
was now charging around again, going from left to right , and
it was just like trying to guide a plane down an alleyway full
of snags. Danny looked at me and said, “Never! I actually
c a n’ t b e l i e v e y o u ’ r e e v e n g o i n g t o g e t a c h a n c e a t l a n d i n g
t h i s f i s h ; y o u ’ r e u n b e l i e va b l e , s o n .” S o a s h e c a m e i n c l o s e r,
we finally got a good look at this incredible docks creature
as it flanked up on its side, and Danny got the honour again
of slipping the net under one of the truly special carp that
l iv e i n t h e s e d o c k s .
N o w r e c e n t l y, I h a v e s t a r t e d a Yo u Tu b e c h a n n e l c a l l e d “ T h e
Specimen Chaser” for my own fishing and have also done
a t h r o w b a c k s e r i e s t o t h e d o c k s c a r p . R e c e n t l y, I b i z a r r e l y
went over to film an episode for this particular fish I’ve
been talking about , and while I was there, I put out a rod
on the spot , so I was fishing while I was there just putting
s o m e v i d e o f o o t a g e t o g e t h e r. S t r a n g e l y e n o u g h , I e n d e d u p
having a recapture of the exact same fish I was going over to
talk about , so I have also put in a picture of when I caught
h i m f o r a s e c o n d t i m e r e c e n t l y.
