At this point, four or five
h o u r s h a d p a s s e d, a n d a f i s h
h a d s e e m e d t o m o v e o f f. T h e
winds picked up, actually to be
h o n e s t i t b e c a m e q u i t e g u s t y,
pumping waves of water into
the small bay behind. I went
to look and noticed that the
only way for the wind to get in
was if it blew past the island
across a large swim with an
island to my right andthe
main body of water in front.
Remembering that this is a
s m a l l , i n t i m a t e w a t e r, I k n e w
lack of sound and quietness
would help me find them. I
noticed a few bubblers in the
deeper water in front, so I set
u p t h e r e. T h e i d e a o f b e i n g
in open water on bubblers
and being able to see the
w h o l e l a k e, e x c e p t f o r t h e
s m a l l b a y b e h i n d, g a v e m e
the opportunity to cast to
fish. After about three hours,
I could hear fish crashing
out off the water to my left,
so I quickly packed up and
moved on.

mess, I packed up, threw

and headed for the first swim
o f t h e l a k e.
Once arrived looking up, I
saw a big set of snags with a
pattern of one boshing after
a n o t h e r. T h i s w a s i t f o r m e.
After watching the fish
s h o w r e l e n t l e s s l y o f f t h e s n a g,
I knew I had to get the marker
rod out. I carefully and quietly
