I decided on Swim 4. T h e
w eather w as grim — col d, we t

I a lready knew how I wan t e d
t o approach it.
My tactics were simple
and built around confidence.
A lead clip arrangement,
BigCarp 94
Ridgemonkey hooklink, and a
size 6 Ridgemonkey Medium
Curve hook. Hookbait was my
trusted RHBaits Tutti-Frutti
wafter, tipped with six red
maggots and fished alongside
a small PVA mesh bag of
maggots. Nothing complicated
— just a reliable winter
approach presented well.
With the rods clipped up
a n d o n t h e m o n e y, I s e t t l e d
into the session. After a few
quiet hours, the first bite
c a m e. A s t e a d y t a k e t h a t
resulted in a beautiful 28lb
