The Friday and Saturday nights

the Sunday afternoon fishing
with left hand rod at 11:00,
right hand rod at 1:00 in a deep
s i l t y a r e a wi t h b o t t o m b a i t s
on, 8-inch braided hook links
so my baits were probably 4 to
6 inches buried into the silt.
My right-hand rod tore off in
h e r to come out and so me o n e
n e tted her for me, th e f i g h t

Fast forward, a week la t e r,
s a me bank, but a swim a b i t
f u rther up from the co r n e r
s wim, I s ettled into, a r a r e
w eekend session for me. T h e
w eather was sunny and wa rm ,
s o the park and the lake we r e
b u sy with people and an gl e r s .

T h i s f i sh w a s s h i f t i n g w a t e r
again. Another big canal carps
o n !! T h i s f i s h w a s t o w i n g
m e a r o u n d, di v i n g i n t o w e e d
b e d s w h e n o p p o r t u n i t y a r o s e.
A s p r e v i o u s l y m e n t i o n e d, i t
w a s t h e w e e k e n d a n d b u s y,
meaning 20 minutes into the
f i g h t a c r o wd h a d g a t h e r e d i n
m y sw i m . Ty p i c a l l y, t h e c a r p
w a sn ’t g i v i ng u p e a s i l y a n d
continued for the weed bed
h o p p i n g f o r a n o t h e r h o u r. I
h a d a c r o wd o f a b o u t 1 0 0 p l u s
people watching me play the
carp and other anglers wading
i n to t r y a n d g e t t h e f i s h t o
come out of the weed beds it
