To u n d e r s t a n d t h e e n f o r c e m e n t i s s u e s f a c e d a c r o s s t h e
c o u n t r y, l a s t y e a r t h e A n g l i n g Tr u s t ’ s F i s h e r i e s E n f o r c e m e n t
Support Service organised a public questionnaire on
fisheries-related crime. Results showed an overwhelming
m a j o r i t y o f a n g l e r s i n d i c a t e d r o d l i c e n c e e va s i o n a s t h e i r
main concern. Other areas of issue were close-season fishing,
theft of fish, fishing without permission, poaching and the
illegal taking of fish.
