The weather did a full u-turn this month
and Summer arrived with the shortest
Spring ever. Some lakes were spawning
early this year making the window to
catch the carp at their biggest weights
very narrow. Judging by the catch reports
many of you have had a fantastic time on
the bank the past few weeks.
Check out the captures from Dave
Gaskin, Harry Palmer, Haydon Hoskins
and Mark Bartlett in this month’s edition
of Big Carp. Tyrone’s piece, looking back
at the characters he’s met reminded me
very much of the early days of carp fishing
and some of the fun and games we used
to get up to on the bank. I’m sure we were
a lot less serious about carp fishing back
then. Don’t forget to enjoy it - I know we
certainly did.
